Luca Limonta is an Imaging Specialist at PGS. Below he shares his time from working on a P-Cable project for PGS. The project gave him the opportunity to experience life offshore. Below he describes the project and his personal experience. 

"Last year I had the opportunity to work on PGS’ first ultra-high-resolution P-Cable," Says Luca, "our main objective was to deliver 3D subsurface data for a wind farm project in Europe. My role was to build the data processing flow.

This exciting project was a pioneering initiative in the renewable energy industry. Being a part of something new like that was a fantastic opportunity for me and it is great to know that my work can make a real impact, as I am helping to build guidelines and workflows that will shape future projects.

Working offshore was both thrilling and challenging. As I am usually just involved in the data processing aspect, it was fascinating to see how the data is acquired and to assist the crew with the deployment of offshore equipment. Being present during the acquisition gave me the chance to provide real-time feedback and understand the unique challenges that arise in offshore operations. It's was an invaluable experience that has improved my understanding of the entire process.

For our customers and clients, P-Cable technology holds tremendous potential and is a significant milestone for efficient offshore wind site characterization. It has allowed PGS to enter the offshore wind sector and bring our dedicated, reliable, and pioneering spirit to the industry.
