Tilman Klüver shares results of the continuous wavefield acquisition in offshore Malaysia. The continuous firing of individual air gun elements with random firing intervals provides high-quality seismic images with a greatly-reduced sound footprint, creating a unique opportunity in environmentally sensitive survey areas, and improves source-side sampling. A variety of source configurations and firing strategies were tested while optimizing the applicability of the methodology to shallow water environments.
